GrandFest, Royal Voluntary Services’ celebration of the skills of older people, is coming to St Fagans National History Museum on Sunday July 9th.

Launched in 2015 GrandFest brings together GrandMakers, people over the age of 70 with a variety of traditional skills, to host Masterclasses passing on their skills to younger generations.

Royal Voluntary Service is now looking for new Welsh GrandMakers to run MasterClasses at GrandFest Cymru at St Fagans National History Museum. They are looking for anyone over the age of 70 (although if there is someone who is over 60 they would be considered) who has a traditional skill and has experience of presenting their skill to small groups. Royal Voluntary Service will pay all expenses and organise all the logistics for each class.

Skills that have been presented in the past have included bread making, carpentry, crochet, beer making, grow your own veg, flower arranging, ballroom dancing, knitting … any skill will be considered as long as it has a traditional feel.

St Fagans National History Museum will be hosting this event, run by the Royal Voluntary Service. If you know of anyone that might be interested, or would like to know a bit more about what might be required, please email eluned.moran@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk.

Past GrandMakers have thoroughly enjoyed their experience and GrandFest Cymru is certain to be equally fun and rewarding.

Ysgrifennaf atoch i’ch hysbysu am gyfle cyffrous yn Sain Ffagan yr haf hwn.

Mae GrandFest, dathliad y Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Brenhinol o sgiliau pobl hŷn, yn dod i Sain Ffagan Amgueddfa Werin Cymru ar ddydd Sul 9 Gorffennaf.

Cafodd GrandFest ei lansio yn 2015, ac mae’n gyfle i bobl dros 70 sydd â sgiliau traddodiadol (GrandMakers) gynnal dosbarthiadau er mwyn trosglwyddo eu sgiliau i genedlaethau iau.

Mae’r Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Brenhinol yn chwilio am wneuthurwyr o Gymru i gynnal dosbarthiadau meistr yn GrandFest Cymru yn Sain Ffagan Amgueddfa Werin Cymru. Maen nhw’n chwilio am unrhyw un dros 70 (er y caiff pobl dros 60 eu hystyried) sydd â sgil draddodiadol a phrofiad o gyflwyno eu sgil i grwpiau bach. Bydd y Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Brenhinol yn talu’r holl gostau teithio ac yn trefnu logisteg pob dosbarth.

Ymysg y sgiliau sydd wedi’u cyflwyno yn y gorffennol mae gwneud bara, gwaith coed, crosio, bragu cwrw, tyfu llysiau, trefnu blodau, dawnsio neuadd, gwnïo ... caiff unrhyw sgil ei hystyried cyn belled â bod naws traddodiadol iddi.

Bydd Sain Ffagan Amgueddfa Werin Cymru yn cynnal y digwyddiad, gaiff ei redeg gan y Gwasanaeth Gwirfoddol Brenhinol. Os ydych yn gwybod am unrhyw un fyddai â diddordeb, neu hoffai wybod mwy am yr hyn sydd ei angen, e-bostiwch Eluned.moran@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk.

Mae cyfranwyr y gorffennol wedi mwynhau’r profiad yn fawr, ac mae GrandFest Cymru yn argoeli i fod yr un mor llwyddiannus.
