CUSTOMER CARE

Tuesday 12.30am-3pm

5 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

Learn valuable skills for any customer focused environment, including Reception, Office and Call Centres. Learn to communicate effectively, give information and assistance and deal with complaints.


diy

WOODWORK / DIY SKILLS

Tuesday 9.30-12noon

10 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

This course will teach you how to work with wood and construct a woodwork project. Gain the confidence to use hand tools and some power tools.


upcycling

FURNITURE RESTORATION

Monday 9.30-12noon

10 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

Learn the skills of upcycling and restoring old furniture. You will learn how to repair, renovate and refurbish your household items and save money!


food hygiene

FOOD HYGIENE

Tuesday 9.30-12noon

5 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

Gain a useful Food Hygiene qualification approrpriate for employment or volunteering in coffee shops, restaurants, public houses and hotels.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Monday 9.30-12noon

5 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

This course will be a useful course for a wide range of employment and volunteering opportunities. You will have the opportunity to gain a basic qualification in Health and Safety.

BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE

Thursday 1-3pm

10 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

This course is Agored Cymru accredited at level one. You will learn basic everyday British Sign Language that is suitable for the home, community, workplace and volunteering.

SEWING MACHINE SKILLS

Thursday 9.30-11.30am

10 Week Course at Palmerston Centre, Barry

Develop your sewing skills and learn how to use a sewing machine. Make household textiles and learn how to follow a pattern to make garments for yourself and the family.


Eligibility

Those who are eligible to enrol on these courses include those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). Also those looking for work or seeking better employment oppportunities. We aim to work with people who have not achieved a level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.
