COMPUTER SKILLS WORKSHOP

Wednesday 10-12.30pm

10 Week Course at Penarth Library

All our courses are accredited, and suitable for all levels, from absolute beginners to confident users. Use these workshops to learn the basics of how to use a computer, internet and email, and basic computer packages. Progress onto Level 1 using Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

ONLINE JOB SEARCH, CV ADVICE, UJM

Friday 1-3.30pm

Drop in at Penarth Library

Use the internet for job search, set up email accounts and send emails with attachments. Complete applications, update your CV and covering letter. Prepare for interview.

Whether you are starting from scratch or updating your CV, this course will help you to present your skills and write a good personal profile and covering letter that will make your CV stand out from the rest.

This workshop will help you present yourself with confidence, consider what sort of questions you will be asked and how to demontrate your skills.

4 Week Course at West House, Penarth

This course can help you improve your confidence and self-esteem. You will consider what it means to be confident and behave in an assertive manner. You will learn how to communicate more effectively.

BRITISH SIGN LANGUAGE

Monday 6.30-8.30pm

10 Week Course at Penarth Learning Community

This course is Agored Cymru accredited at level one. You will learn basic everyday British Sign Language that is suitable for the home, community, workplace and volunteering.


Eligibility

Those who are eligible to enrol on these courses include those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). Also those looking for work or seeking better employment oppportunities. We aim to work with people who have not achieved a level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.
